The growing consciousness for healthy living is causing the rise of fast growing demand of mineral water and packaged drinking water.

But do you know that packaged drinking water and mineral water are distinctly different from each other? Take a look at the differences of the two types of water.

Packaged drinking water

  • The first and most prominent difference is in the name. Mineral water is the water that naturally contains the minerals in it or the minerals are fused by process to make it mineral water. But packaged drinking water is manufactured and packaged in packaged drinking water plant after it goes through several stages of filtration.
  • The huge difference of quality makes these two types of water different. Mineral water contains sulfated minerals in it. It is extremely good for plant and animal. Previously the water that people used to get from well or taps used to be full with minerals. But now the natural water is contaminated by the non biodegradable materials like paint and plastic. That is why the water is not safe anymore. On the other hand people prefer packaged drinking water because of the distinct taste. The taste depends on different manufacturers.
  • The other biggest difference lies in the treatment and filtration process. Mineral water is treated with sulfate mineral like aluminum sulfate that purifies the water. But the water goes through a minor filtration process using 0.2 micro screen. On the other hand packaged drinking water goes through several stages of filtration like filtration, sedimentation and distillation.
  • There are differences between benefits too. Mineral water offers the essential minerals that are necessary for human body too. But packaged drinking water goes through the treatment process that destroys all minerals in it. So, it does not offer any benefits to the consumer.

Choose your water carefully and take a sip of health.
